| Who's Next is my least favorite of the major Who albums. I accept to agree with Ohiogirl that this song is criminally overplayed (though still not as badly as Baba O'Reilly, which I can barely distinguish from background noise.) I merely don't think all those blocky major chords are what Pete does best. Tommy and Sell Out had much more intricate songwriting and better melodies - I've quipped that in that location's more significant in the first 5 seconds of "The Acid Queen" then in all of tracks 3-vii of Who's Next. Live At Leeds of course rocks - it's a five-star album if only for the rhythm section, which is only inhuman. I've come up around on Quadrophenia recently - different Tommy, it's mostly just the sum of its parts, only many of those parts are lyrically and melodically potent. (I gained a new appreciation after hearing Phish encompass the entire album for their Halloween bear witness. So I put the Who's back on and realized it was even better.) I enjoy Pete'southward first 2 solo albums a lot too. |
